Adopt-a-Pond Conservation programme

Description: Adopt-A-Pond is a wetland conservation programme with a number of initiatives and projects that take place on site at the Toronto Zoo and within Ontario. We have concentrated on designing stewardship and outreach programming to help protect clean water and wetland habitats since 1991, with a particular focus on the preservation of Species at Risk reptiles and amphibians and the habitats that sustain them. This is achieved through the provision of resources and training that enable communities and individuals to initiate and sustain stewardship action for the benefit of wetland wildlife and wetland ecological processes. Programs offered by Adopt-A-Pond promote conservation opportunities in communities across Ontario, and reach audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
