Canadian Thousand Islands Heritage Conservancy
Description: The Thousand Islands Heritage Conservancy operates on the Frontenac Axis, along the international boundary between Gananoque and Brockville. Incorporated in 1993, it works primarily with property owners on private land stewardship strategies, using hand-shake agreements to secure conservation commitments. We work closely with Parks Canada and with the provincial St. Lawrence Parks Commission, and are concerned with the long term health of both natural and cultural heritage. Because of our strategic location, we are one of many agencies involved with the Algonquin to Adirondacks initiative.
